Local youth cast for this year's Missoula Children's Theatre

Youth from around the area have been hard at work rehearsing for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) production of Rumpelstiltskin.

High Plains Art Council (HPAC) hosts MTC in Sidney every year, and auditions are always a big turnout. This year more than 60 students made up the cast and crew for the production.

The Montana-based MCT tours throughout the country and the world to help stage performances in small communities, touring productions come complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup.

This year MTC will be presenting Rumpelstiltskin, the fairytale of a miller who brags to the king that his daughter can spin straw into gold. Like all good fairytale stories, Rumpelstiltskin teaches the morals to not be greedy, selfish or boast, while encouraging honesty.

The cast has been rehearsing everyday this week to prepare to preform Rumpelstiltskin for their peers today and for the public on Saturday.

HPAC and MTC will present Rumpelstiltskin on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Sidney High School Fine Arts Center. Tickets for the show are available at the door, admission for adults is $12, seniors $6, students and WNCC students $5 and Children under age 5 are free.
