Sidney's Connor Dormann lines up a playoff putt at the Sidney Invite last week. Dormann used a playoff win for the second week in a row to win the Western Conference individual title.
MITCHELL - Sidney's boys golf team captured the Western Conference crown Tuesday, doing so in a manner that made a big impression on Coach Chuck Christiansen.
"I'm happier with the way they did it than I am with the fact they took conference," Christiansen said.
Early on, team leaders Connor Dormann and Nate Dvorak both found themselves five strokes over par in as many holes. As a team, Sidney collected 12 early penalty strokes including out of bounds calls and the unusual situation of another person picking up a Sidney ball in play.
