Cabela's honors hometown heroes

Hometown Heroes were honored at Cabela's on Saturday, Sidney's Fire Department, Police Department, Nebraska State Troopers, Nebraska Game and Parks and the Air Link were among those on site for the event.

Cabela's honored the men and women who serve the community over the weekend by hosting a Hometown Heroes event. The public was invited to meet and greet the heroes who serve the Sidney community and around the area.

Cabela's Marketing Specialist, Janet Lienemann said "it is important to honor those who serve, with out them we would not have the freedoms we have today."

On Saturday those that braved the cooler temperatures walked around to various stations meeting heroes, learning about their contributions and participating in events in the Cabela's parking lot in Sidney.
