Chappell wins Legion Senior Tourney crown

Chappell teams made a strong showing at the Sidney American Legion Baseball Tournament over the weekend, both vying for spots in the championship.

Essentially a junior (Buckley) and a senior (Chappell) team, both showed they came to play ball, with the Chappell squad eventually finishing atop the tournament heap.

Chappell went through the bracket without a loss, its biggest scare in its tournament opener, just nipping Kearney 7-6. They then toppled host team Sidney 11-5 in the semi final before pouncing on Gering in the championship game.
