Barbee Harmon - Obituary

Barbee Harmon, 79 of Sidney, Nebraska died Thursday evening, December 21, 2017 at her home in Sidney.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in the Prairie West Church in Potter with Pastor Betsy Galloway-Carew officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

Barbee Billey Harmon was born on March 10, 1938 in Kimball, Nebraska to William and Myrtle (Nelson) Smith. She graduated from Potter High School and went to beauty school in Denver, Colorado. She met her future husband William (Bill) Harmon on a blind date and they were married on November 30, 1959 in Denver, Colorado. Being an Air Force wife meant they lived in several places across the nation and in England. Once Bill retired from active duty in December of 1969, they settled in Sidney, Nebraska. Barbee was known to many as "Ma Harmon" in the community. She and Bill had four children: Randy, Rex, Royland and Rayvonne.

Survivors include her sons: Randy and wife Sandy Harmon of Kimball, NE, Rex and wife Robin Harmon of Sturgis, SD and Royland and wife Julie Harmon of Sidney, NE; her daughter Rayvonne and husband Scott Dailey of Sidney, NE; grandsons: Angus, Chase, Corey, Chance and Ty; one great-grandson Nash; her brother Doug and wife Ardis Smith of Dalton, NE; her sister-in-law Patti Smith of Denver, CO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers: Wallace, Loren and Leston Smith; sister Karyn Smith and sister-in-laws Nadine and Shirley Smith.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Harmon family.
