Virginia Smith Charitable Trust Makes Awards

The Trustees of the Virginia Smith Charitable Trust awarded a total of $191,900.00 to a number of local organizations during 2017. They include:

Chappell Child Care Center, Creek Valley Preschool, Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries for Sullivan Hills, Chappell Fire District #1, Chappell Ambulance Service, Creek Valley School Educational Foundation, South Platte Preschool, Solid Rock Bible Church for the Food Pantry, Chappell Senior Center, Chappell Chamber of Commerce, SUCCEED, Inc., City of Chappell, Creek Valley Public Schools, University of Nebraska Foundation for the SIM-NE Truck, South Platte Public Schools, Deuel County Fair Board, Chappell Museum Association for the Heritage House, Nebraska 4-H Foundation, and the Lodgepole Depot Museum.

In addition, the Trustees paid a total of $285,000 in scholarships to 95 students in Nebraska’s Third District in honor of Haven and Virginia Smith through the Charitable Trust, for a total amount of $476,900.00 for calendar year 2017.
