County 4-H Carnival Saturday

The Cheyenne County community is invited to an evening of entertainment, fun and food as the county 4-H groups host their annual spring carnival.

Cynthia Gill, Extension Educator and Youth Development University of Nebraska-Lincoln, said the Spring Carnival has been the primary fundraising event for county 4-H clubs for more than 50 years.

The Carnival is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds. The Carnival will offer numerous booths, food vendors and games.

“Each club sponsors a booth,” Gill says.

Entry to the Carnival is free. Tickets to participate in the booths and games are 10 cents each. Each activity will cost two to three tickets, Gill says.

New this year is a photo booth. Booths will also include a cake walk, fishing booth, and the “Hungry Hippo.” Concessions will include taco salad, sloppy joes, hot dogs and homemade pies.

There are 10 active clubs in Cheyenne County with a few special interest groups as well.
