Sidney Golfers Compete in Gothenburg

Sidney's Red Raider Golf Team traveled on Thursday to participate in Gothenburg Invitational Golf Tournament at the Wild Horse Golf Club.

Out of a field of 75, Sidney senior Connor Dormann placed second with a round of 72. Senior Jake Burke finished 24th with a round of 84, Cole Westfall finished 32nd with a round of 88, Cayden Jobman finished 35th with a round of 89, and Jackson Witt finished 36th with a round of 89.

Sidney golf coach Jeff Yahn commented, "Even with a 40 minute frost delay that pushed the tee times back, we played extremely well once we got out there. We did struggle a bit on the back nine with the wind and a couple of the players found some sand traps."

On Connor Dormann's second place finish, coach Yahn said, "Connor had a great round. We've been waiting for him to put a front and back nine together, and he got off to a fast start with a birdie on 1 then an eagle on 3. Even with a couple of bogeys he shot a one under on the front nine. He just continued to grind on the back nine and shot a 37."

The Sidney Golf Team's next scheduled tournament is on Thursday at Chadron.
