Eric and Nicole Bertrand are unapologetically small town. They grew up in Kearney, staying there until they felt the town was becoming too big for their taste.
They saw an offer to work at Cabela's and made the move to Sidney.
"Cabela's offered us very good jobs, very good careers," Eric Bertrand said.
That all changed when they, as many others in the Cabela's structure, had to decide on their future when Cabela's was purchased by the Bass Pro ownership. They had the option of following the corporate world and accepting a transfer. However, it likely wouldn't fit their love of small communitie...
