    Caitlyn Deal kicks off the first meeting of the Cool Kids Club 4-H gardening project group. Deal and her brothers, Jeffrey and Zach, wrote a grant for their Junior Leader 4-H Club to start a community gardening project with a learning component. They teamed up with the Cool Kids Club. The group will meet weekly throughout the summer to learn about gardening and science. The project also developed into a new partnership between UNL Extension and the Cool Kids Club.   • Emily Gill Awarded 4-H Council Scholarship

    The Cheyenne County 4-H Council is proud to announce that Emily Gill is the recipient of the 2014 4-H Council Scholarship. Gill is an 11-year member of 4-H and has served as president of the Junior Leaders and Dryland Toughies 4-H Clubs. Gill's 4-H projects include market beef, poultry, photography, and foods. Gill is a senior at Leyton High School and is the son of James and Cynthia Gill of Gurley.     Twenty-six new 4-H Shooting Sports instructors from across the panhandle received their certifications to teach 4-Hers best practices in archery, shotgun and rifle last weekend in Sidney.
