    Nearly 60 people attended the going away party held at the Hillside Bar & Grill for James and Megan McGown on Tuesday evening. Megan is the Economic Development Director for the City of Sidney. James is the principal at Leyton High School. He is leaving to become the new superintendent in Brady, Neb. City Manager Gary Person presented a plaque to Megan that commemorates her 10 years of service for the City of Sidney and Cheyenne County.   • Night at the Races

    The Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce hosted "Night at the Races" on Friday evening at Hillside Bar and Grill. The event included six horse races and a dessert auction. The Cheyenne County Young Professionals Group also provided a 50/50 raffle.     The Cheyenne County Ladies Chamber hosted the 15th Annual "Holiday Taste Of Sidney" and Cupcake Showdown at the Cheyenne County Community Center Thursday evening. There were 35 businesses/organizations that participated in the event. The Cupcake Showdown is a new tradition added this year, which was won by Keep Sidney Beautiful. The proceeds go to a scholarship fund that will be used to help children play sports at the Cheyenne County Community Center.... Full story
