    The Nebraska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission held a public meeting at its office on Illinois Street in Sidney on Tuesday to consider an application for a wastewater well in Western Nebraska. Terex Energy, a Colorado-based company, is asking permission to inject wastewater produced through hydraulic fracturing into a well 14 miles north of Mitchell.     CHAPPELL – Patrick Ningen, the principal at Creek Valley High School, was named NSASSP Region V High School Principal of the Year.     In honor of National Agriculture Week, students at North Elementary were able to participate in Skype lectures with a member of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. Judi Roach's fourth-grade class spoke to Courtney Schaardt, Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture Manager of Outreach Education.   • Dress Down Day Funds for the Arts

    High Plains Art Council was the recipient of January's Cheyenne County Chamber Dress Down Day funds for the Missoula Children's Theatre. An amount of $960.12 was raised in support of its recent presentation of The Wizard of Oz, featuring more than 50 local youth performers.     Several local pool players were recently recognized for winning the Fall Session of the American Poolplayers Association (APA) 8-Ball, 9-Ball and Masters Pool Leagues. Winning the Tuesday 8-Ball title was The Mighty Ducks from Linger Longer in Lodgepole.
