    SIDNEY – Sidney Fire Department (SVFD) and four other neighboring departments tested for their Firefighter 1 Certifications (FF1) at the SFD Training Facility together earlier this month. Chadron, Gering, Hemingford and Potter all completed Nebraska State Firefighter 1 certifications with SVFD earlier this month.   • Sidney Regional Medical Center Breaks Ground on Extended Care Facility

    On Thursday, May 18, Sidney Regional Medical Center held its long-awaited groundbreaking ceremony for its new Extended Care facility at the site of the Medical Center. The facility is funded through a combination of contributions to the hospital, construction financing from lenders and low-interest loans from the USDA's Rural Development initiative.
