    Cheyenne County Commissioners and the Cheyenne County Board of Equalization met Tuesday for their regular meeting at the Cheyenne County Court House in Sidney. In the meeting the Cheyenne County Fair Board submitted reservation dates for the upcoming 2017 year, three event reservations were approved by the board. Also submitted for approval by the fair board was its annual inventory submitted by fair board member Anita Pennel and approved by the Commissioners.   • Shooting Sport volunteers needed

    The 4-H Nebraska Extension office is currently looking for volunteers to help teach different shooting sport classes in Sidney this year. A Nebraska 4-H Shooting Sports Leader Certification Workshop is scheduled for October in Bridgeport, NE this class is needed to help with the shooting club. It will be held October 29 and 30 at the Prairie Winds Community Center in Bridgeport. The deadline to register for the session is October 19th.     Jack Arterburn has been appointed Extension Educator for beef systems for the northern Panhandle. His appointment was announced by Dr. Jack Whittier, Director of Research and Extension for the Panhandle. He began his duties Aug. 29, based at the Nebraska Extension Office in Rushville.     CHADRON -- Sidney’s girls golfers continued their busy competition schedule Tuesday, coming back from the Labor Day holiday break with their best medalist finish of the season. Three Lady Raiders broke into the top 10 at the Chadron Invitational, with Emma Alexander, Jordan Cook and Paige Langley medaling.
