  • Medina sentenced to maximum prison term

    FOR THE SUN-TELEGRAPH Theodore D. Medina, age 25 of Sidney, was sentenced Monday to serve the maximum possible term on two counts. On Sept. 8, Medina admitted to violating probation in two cases, according to Cheyenne County attorney Paul Schaub. Medina was found guilty of attempted assault in the 2nd degree, a class IV felony, and third-degree assault, a class I misdemeanor. Both verdicts were reached in 2013. He was sentenced Monday to serve 20 to 60 months in prison for attempted assault charge and 12 months in prison for the assault count....

    Dear Editor: The City Council will be selecting a new city manager soon. I hope they will pick one who will listen to the people and taxpayers of Sidney and stop this wasteful spending and overspending on projects. In 2012, the voters approved a half-cent sales tax to help pay for our streets, pay for a swimming pool, upgrade the irrigation system and park improvements.
