  • Letter to the Editor: Music, arts need your support

    Tom Millman - Sidney|Sep 24, 2014

Dear Editor, What’s there not to like about good music? The vast majority of the citizens of Cheyenne County missed hearing an exceptional musical event at the Sidney High School auditorium recently. The Dallas Brass was the headliner at a concert that included the Offutt AFB brass ensemble and all members of the Sidney school bands. Because the Offutt brass ensemble was having a travel day between concerts in two area towns, they were excited to be a part of the concert and perform with the Dallas Brass and our own students. This was a c...

    Edward Jones|Sep 24, 2014

And you’d be basing these feelings on actual evidence: the longer the investment period, the greater the tendency of the markets to “smooth out” their performance. But what happens when you retire? Won’t you be more susceptible to market movements? You may not be as vulnerable as you might think. In the first place, given our growing awareness...

    Will Korn|Sep 24, 2014

The Sidney High volleyball team had a rough outing against Chase County on Tuesday night at the Cabela’s Athletic Facility, falling 3-1 to the Longhorns. Sidney is just the second team this season to avoid a sweep at the hands of Chase County (10-1). Overall, the Lady Raiders did well to dodge a straight-set loss against a strong squad. “Chase County is a good ball club and we knew that going in,” Sidney head coach Sarah Wilson said. “Again, there were a lot of good learning opportunities for us to grow as a team.” For the first few minutes o...
