Sidney's Lady Raider Volleyball team had split their first two meetings with Chadron, and hosted the Lady Cardinals on Tuesday at the Cabela's Athletic Center. Chadron had just beaten the Lady Raiders three days prior, and Sidney Head Coach Marcus Ehrke knew that adjustments had to be made and his team needed to stay focused to beat the visitors. The first set was tight until Sidney's defense stiffened and Chadron had difficulty finding any weak spots to score. Senior Mattie Johnson powered 7...

    Mike Motz, Sidney Sun-Telegraph|Oct 23, 2019

The Leyton/Banner County WarCats entered Thursday's Homecoming contest against Paxton winless, and the inability to stop the big play again sent the WarCats down to defeat. After the opening Homecoming festivities, the Tigers received the kickoff and junior Remington Schimonitz returned it right up the middle of the WarCats coverage for a touchdown and a quick 8-to-0 lead. After going three-and-out, Leyton's Zac Henke boomed a punt all the way down to the Paxton 8 yard line. But the Tigers went...

Sidney started on offense, but both teams initially struggled to put together a drive until the Longhorns broke through with a fifty yard run for a score on their third possession. A botched point after kick turned into a successful pass in the end zone, and Chase County led 8-to-0. Sidney’s offense could not sus...
