    School lunches in Sidney are being sourced more locally this year. Through a partnership with the Cheyenne County Farm Bureau and local agriculture producers, the Sidney Public School District is able to serve local beef to students. “It’s a new program that we just started this school year,” said Tyson Narjes, Cheyenne County Farm Bureau president.     Average retail gasoline prices in Nebraska have fallen 5.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.29 per gallon on Sunday yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,150 gas outlets in Nebraska. This compares with the national average that has increased 2.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.22 per gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.     Jerry Dean Jacobs was born March 28, 1943, in Abilene, TX to Russell and Hilda (Schubarth) Jacobs. He was cured of his illness and began his adventures in Heaven on Oct. 22, 2015. Jerry was raised in Potter by the Walter Hilpert family where he learned to love farm life. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.     The St Patrick's High School Class of 1965 celebrated their 50 year reunion Oct. 8-11 in Sidney with tours of Sidney, the Old Sioux Army Depot, West Elementary School and Sidney High School. The Class of '65 was the first class to graduate from the new St. Patrick's High School. This school is now West Elementary School.     AURORA - The Sidney Lady Raiders varsity volleyball squad ended its 2015 season last Saturday as the team fell 3-0 (21-25, 24-26, 16-25) to Aurora's Lady Huskies in sub-state playoff action.
