    With costumes, lines, sets, props and makeup, Theresa Egloff and Chris Wilkinson – the Missoula Children's Theatre touring actors and directors – arrived in Sidney to cast local students for roles in the production of "The Wizard of Oz."   • Phony $20 bills being passed locally

    The Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several counterfeit $20 bills pass in the Sidney area at several local businesses. The sheriff’s office is asking local business owners to make sure their employees understand how to determine counterfeit bills and to keep a watchful eye for them.     Students from Sidney Middle School, West and North elementary schools, Potter-Dix and Leyton will compete in the Cheyenne County Spelling Bee on Wednesday. They will compete in the auditorium at West Elementary beginning at 12:45 p.m. The winner advances to represent Cheyenne County in the State Spelling Bee in Omaha on March 14.     The Peetz Local Spelling Bee was held last week, with Dylan Baggs of Sidney coming out on top. Bryson Long of Peetz finished second. The top 25 spellers based on a written test competed for 10 spots – eight qualifiers and two alternates. That group advances to the Regional Bee in Brush, Colo., on Feb. 2.     Air Force Airman Robert C. Rocha graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas. Rocha is the son of Robert R. Rocha of Sidney and Melody H. Keller of Gurley, and the brother of Alexis A. Rocha of Florida and Mikel C. Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colo. He is a 2010 graduate of Leyton High School.
