    In a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filling Thursday, Cabela’s announced it’s long awaited, annual shareholders meeting. The company announced its shareholders meeting will be held Tuesday, December 13, at 8 a.m. at the Cabela’s corporate headquarters in Sidney.     Local Marines celebrated the 241 birthday of the Marines, with an annual Marine Ball in Sidney last weekend. More than 50 Marines and their significant others attended the ball this year.   • Sidney PD receives medication destruction bin through grant

    The Sidney Police Department received a medication disposal bin through a grant from CVS pharmacy which arrived last week. Twice a year, the police department holds a medication destruction event where citizens can bring in their expired or unused prescriptions to the department to be disposed of correctly. Cheif Aikens said "this bin gives citizens an opportunity to bring in their expired or unused prescriptions year round instead of having to wait until we hold the next destruction event."...

    In February 1968, Keith A. Hansen was still in high school when he enlisted in the US Navy. On the deferred enlistment program, one could pass the physical, take all the tests, and sign on the line. He/she was allowed to finish high school before going to boot camp.     CHADRON -- The reward for information leading to the prosecution of the person or people responsible for illegally killing a mature bull elk and leaving it to waste in northwestern Nebraska has been doubled.
