    On Tuesday, the Rotary Club donated more than 100 dictionaries to the 4th graders at North Elementary School. Rotary member Tom Hyde told students about the four-way ethical test: Is it honest?     The Sidney Police Department is stressing the importance of putting on your seat belt before heading onto the roadways. It’s participating in the “Click It or Ticket” campaign this week through Sunday to promote safe driving. The department applied for – and was awarded – $1,500 in grant money from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety to cover overtime reimbursement.     The Sidney City Council will hold a public hearing to iron out the final steps in the production and annexation of the new Love’s Travel Stop.   • Offices closed for Thanksgiving holiday

    The City of Sidney offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov, 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. All city departments will be closed, including the landfill and the library. The Dial-a-ride Bus and Stage Line Bus will not be running. The solid waste department will collect Thursday’s and Friday’s trash on Wednesday. The Sidney Sun-Telegraph offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday as well.
