    Chris Koozer, an assistant coach at Grand Island Senior High School for 12 of the past 13 years, has been named to succeed Todd Ekart as Sidney High School's head football coach, the Sun-Telegraph learned this morning. Koozer, 35, will make his move to Sidney next summer with his wife, Amy, and three sons before taking on his new responsibilities.     The first big freeze of the season has descended on the Western Panhandle of the state. The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for the area. Wind chills are expected to fall to as low as -35 degrees overnight. An advisory is issued when the wind chill is low enough to pose a threat to human health and life if adequate protection isn't taken against hypothermia and frostbite, according to the weather service.   • Driver jailed in Keith County for DWI, going 127 mph

    PAXTON, Neb. – An Arizona man was arrested and jailed for driving while intoxicated after a Nebraska trooper stopped his vehicle for speeding 127 mph in a 75-mph zone on Interstate 80 in Keith County. Just before 4 p.m. on Dec. 24, Troop D-North Platte received a report of a white BMW sedan traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on I-80 in Keith County.
