Agriculture Week a big hit at Sidney's South Elementary

To cap off Agriculture Week, students in Shauna George’s first grade class at South Elementary enjoyed agriculture-themed activities, March 22.

George read “First Peas to the Table” by Susan Grigsby to the children.

After the reading, George quizzed the children about planting and harvesting. A Farm Bureau representative, Jennifer Gipfert, asked the children what is grown around Sidney. In keeping with the theme, Gipfert brought in bags of peas that were donated by Walker Farms for the children to plant at home.
