Sue Hiett and Cheryl Jones of Keep Sidney Beautiful (KSB) awarded the first ever Holiday Yard of the Month to Peggy, Kevin and Amanda Onken on Tuesday afternoon.
The Onken's spent one Sunday afternoon putting up decorations throughout their yard. Amanda spent an entire day drilling holes in some pumpkins, filling them with Christmas lights and making them into topiaries. Unfortunately, the inconsistent weather caused the topiaries to shrivel.
KSB will be awarding a Holiday Yard of the Month four times per year-for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. To nominate a friend or neighbor, call (308) 254-5851.
