Raiders advance with 36-26 win in opener

Victory marks team's first in post season since '93; Sidney to face Gretna

As Sidney Red Raiders Head Football Coach Todd Ekart walked over to meet with his players at the south end of Weymouth Field after Friday night's playoff win over Blair, a puzzled look came over his face. Something seemed to be missing.

With a sideways glance towards the home sideline, he spotted the missing ingredient.

"C'mon!," he called with a big arm wave.

The summons being answered, a flood of students suddenly rushed southward where coaches, parents, students, fans and players alike gathered to rejoice in Sidney's first football playoff victory in 20 years.
