New pet tags available

 


Sidney pet owners can begin picking up 2014 dog tags starting Dec. 1. Tags are available at the Sidney Police Department at 1715 Illinois St. Owners must present a certificate indicating a current rabies vaccination for each dog or a license will not be issued.

The fee for an intact female is $11 while the fee for an intact male is $6. Altered females, males and puppies younger than six months old are no charge. Beginning March 1, 2014 the prices will increase due to city ordinance 618.07. After this date intact females will be $16 and intact males will be $11. Altered females, males and puppies six months or older will be $6.

Hours for dog licensing are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All 2013 tags will expire Dec. 31 2013. All dogs inside city limits must be licensed for the 2014 year.
