Court Briefs - 12-12-13

The following people appeared in Cheyenne County Court on Monday Dec. 9, before the Honorable Randin R. Roland:

Shane Carey, age 24 of Sidney, appeared, with counsel, for a pre-trial conference on charges of Second Degree Criminal Trespass, a class III misdemeanor and Criminal Mischief, a class II misdemeanor. He pled guilty to 2nd Degree Trespass and received $100 fine, plus court costs.

David Rowe, age 50 of Lodgepole, appeared for a pre-trial conference on a charge of DUI High Test 2nd Offense and Obstructing a Peace Officer. These are class W and I misdemeanors, respectively. That pre-trial conference has been continued to Jan. 13, 2014 at 9 a.m.

Luke Rauner, age 33 of Sidney, appeared for entry of plea on a charge of DUI 1st Offense: High Test, which is a class W misdemeanor. He pled not guilty and a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for Dec. 23 at 9 a.m.

Tanner Verhagen, age 26 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of DUI 1st Offense. This is a class W misdemeanor. He pled not guilty. A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for Jan. 13, 2014 at 9 a.m.

Martin White, age 42 of Sidney, appeared for sentencing on an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Methamphetamine, a class I misdemeanor. He received 10 days in jail and 18 months Intensive Supervised Probation.

Aaron Cook, age 26 of Sidney, appeared for entry of plea on a charge of DUI 1st Offense: High Test. This is a class W misdemeanor. He pled not guilty and a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for Dec. 23 at 9 a.m.

Timothy Grimm, age 32 of Sidney, appeared for sentencing on an amended charge of DUI 1st Offense: High Test, considered a class W misdemeanor. He received a $500 fine, plus court costs, and 18 months Intensive Supervised Probation.

Katy Schutte, age 23 of Sterling, Colo., appeared for arraignment on a charge of DUI 1st Offense, a class W misdemeanor. She retained an attorney and did not enter a plea. Entry of plea has been scheduled.

Kody Capps, age 27 of Highlands Ranch, Colo., appeared for a pre-trial conference on a charge of DUI 1st Offense, also a class W misdemeanor. A suppression hearing is scheduled for Feb. 4, 2014 at 9 a.m. The jury trial have been scheduled for March 4, 2014.

Wyatt Coleman, age 26 of Sidney, appeared for entry of plea on two county charge of Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Both are class I misdemeanors. His pre-trial conference has been scheduled for Jan. 13, 2014 at 9 a.m.

Eliseo Perez, age 62 from Gering, appeared for entry of plea on a charge of DUI 1st High Test, a class W misdemeanor. He pled not guilty and a pre-trial conference has been scheduled for Jan. 13, 2014 at 9 a.m.

William Chandler, age 37 of Sterling, Colo., appeared for entry of plea on an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Meth. He pled guilty and received 11 days in jail.

Becky Pounder, age 30 of Sidney, appeared for a sentencing on an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Meth, a class I misdemeanor. Sentencing has been continued to Jan. 13, 2014 at 9 a.m.

Michael Livingstone, age 22 of Potter, appeared for sentencing on a charge of DUI 1st Offense. This is a class W misdemeanor. He received 10 days in jail to be served consecutively with the next case, in which he appeared for sentencing on an amended charge of DUI 1st Offense and Attempted Resisting Arrest. These are class W and II misdemeanors, respectively. He received 30 days for the DUI and 90 days for Attempted Resisting Arrest, all to be served consecutively.

Katy Schutte, age 23 of Sterling, Colo., appeared for entry of plea on a charge of DUI 1st Offense: High Test, a class W misdemeanor. She pled guilty and received a $500 fine, bench probation and 7 days in jail.
