Bulldogs earn split

The Peetz girls hoop squad split a pair of games over the weekend to bring their season record to 6-3.

On home turf on Friday the Bulldogs were topped by district opponent Briggsdale 51-47 in ovetime. Peetz held a 36-29 lead after three quarters. In a road contest against non-district foe Merino on Saturday Peetz prevailed 35-17.

Melissa Schumacher was the high scorer for Peetz against Briggsdale with 13 points while Morgan Burns and Beth Bernhardt added 11 and 10 respectively. Bailey Lewis chipped in with 6 and Jodie Schumacher 5 points.

Burns led the team in scoring at Merino with 11 points while Melissa Schumacher had 10. Jodie Schumacher and Bernhardt added 8 and 6 points to the scoresheet.

A challenging district game awaits the Bulldogs on Friday when they host Fleming. The Bulldogs lost a close 42-37 contest to the Wildcats on Dec. 7, at Fleming.
