Law enforcement officials arrest suspect shortly after attempted bank robbery

Sidney police and Cheyenne County sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an attempted bank robbery Friday morning at the Sidney Federal Savings & Loan.

Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 9:20 a.m.

Two hours later the suspect was reportedly apprehended east of Sidney. The arrest was made without incident.

The suspect was said by authorities to be a female. She was apparently armed, carrying a small handgun. Police were not releasing her name or other details of the incident at press time.
