Court Briefs - 02-10-14

The following people appeared in Cheyenne County Court on Thursday, Feb. 6, before the Honorable Randin Roland:

Jethro Harris, age 41 of Sidney, appeared for presentment on a charge of 2nd Degree Assault and Terroristic Threats. These are class III and class IV felonies, respectively. He asked for an attorney and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Yamel Rivera, age 27 of Clearwater, Fla., appeared for presentment on a charge of Theft, which is a class III felony. He asked for an attorney and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 14 at 9 a.m.

Douglas Wiese, age 45 of Des Moines, Iowa, appeared for a preliminary hearing on a charge of Terroristic Threats and Strangulation. Both are class IV felonies. The case was bound over and arraignment has been scheduled for Feb. 11 at 8:30 a.m.

The following person appeared in Deuel County Court on Thursday, Feb. 6, before the Honorable Randin Roland:

Leland Duffield, age 26 of Chappell, appeared for arraignment on a charge of 3rd degree Assault. This is a class I misdemeanor. He asked for an attorney and entry of plea has been scheduled for Feb. 20 at 9 a.m.

The following people appeared in Deuel County Court on Friday, Feb. 7, before the Honorable Randin Roland:

Louis Smith, age 33 of St. Louis, Mo., appeared for a preliminary hearing on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent, Possession of Marijuana over a pound and No drug tax stamps. These represent a class III felony, IV felony and IV felony, respectively. The case was bound over and arraignment set for Feb. 11 at 8:30 a.m. in Cheyenne County.

Herman Chairse age 33 of St. Louis, Mo. appeared for a a preliminary hearing on the same set of charges as above. The case was bound over and arraignment set for the same date and time as above in Cheyenne County.
