Local student sets Black Hills track record

Black Hills State star Jacob Wilson hurling the javelin for the Yellow Jackets. Wilson is a Peetz graduate from Sidney. He has set BHSU marks in high jump.

Sidney native and Peetz High School graduate Jacob Wilson has made his mark on the Black Hills State University (Spearfish, S.D.) track team.

Since Wilson won the high jump at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference meet last spring he has not lost an event. He won the championship last spring with a with a school record leap of 6-10 1/4 in an outdoor event. In the Yellow Jackets most recent meet on Jan. 26, Wilson also established a new indoor school record. At the Dave Little Alumni Mile Wilson cleared the bar at 6-9 1/2.
