Bette Jean (Chesmore) Williams Krauter, 88 of Sidney, passed away late Wednesday evening, February 26, 2014 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyo.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Mon., March 3, 2014 in the Sidney Evangelical Free Church, 2763 11th Ave., with Pastor Doug Birky officiating. Interment will be in the Oshkosh City Cemetery in Oshkosh, Neb. at 2 p.m. Monday.

Visitation will be held at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 3 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Davis Hospice Center at 6000 Sycamore Rd., Cheyenne, WY 82009.

Bette was born on Jan. 11, 1926 in Towanda, Illinois, the daughter of Preston Charles Chesmore and Viola Pearl (Robinson) Chesmore. She received her education at various schools, before leaving her education to care for her invalid mother.

Bette was united in marriage to Brinkley Emerald Williams on Sept. 18, 1944 at Chappell. To this union five children were born. David Emerald, Brinkley E. (Gene), Gerald O., Bonnie Kay and Donald E. They lived at Chappell, later moving west of Oshkosh. Bette worked at Dunn's Turkey Farm and the Midwec Manufacturing Plant. After Brinkley's death Feb. 27, 1962 she moved with her sons to Oshkosh.

Bette later married Ralph Krauter in April, 1965. To this union was born a daughter, Barbara Lynn. Bette retired from Midwec and they moved to a farm south of Lisco. She moved to Sidney in 1987. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning.

She is survived by her children, David (Marsha) Williams of Antioch, Ill. Gene (Barb) Williams of Cheyenne, Gerald Williams of Dallas, TX, Donald (Bonnie) Williams of Orchard, Neb. and Barbara(Rob) Roderick of Sidney, twelve grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Brinkley, infant daughter Bonnie Kay, her parents, granddaughter Melissa, four sisters, and three brothers.
