Mahr's buzzer beater caps incredible Raiders comeback

When Katelin Cole stepped to the free-throw line with 5:33 left in the game and the Raiders trailing by 12 points, Sidney was in need of a minor miracle.

It was just about 5:31 later that Sarah Mahr sank the shot completing an improbable 16-2 run to finish off the Gering Bulldogs 45-43 in the District B-6 Championship game Friday night at the Cougar Palace at Western Nebraska Community College.

Mahr's game winner was followed almost immediately by the final buzzer, followed by shrieks of joy from the Sidney side of the court.
