Peetz battles, falls short

The Bulldogs saw their season come to an abrupt end in the third-place game of the 1A District 4 playoffs with a 73-60 loss to the Briggsdale Falcons on Saturday morning at Sterling High School.

While the Falcons made several runs throughout the game to gain a big lead, the Bulldogs just as often reeled them back in with their own scoring bursts--at least until the later stages of the game.

"In this league it's always a game of runs," said the Bulldogs leading scorer Josh Fiscus. "We've always been known as a team that could get in the last run but that didn't happen today."

The Falcons (17-7)...
