Lillian Disbrow, 96 of Sidney, died Sunday afternoon, March 2, 2014 at Sidney Regional Medical Center, Extended Care.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Fri., March 7, 2014 in the Salem Lutheran Church in Gurley with Pastor Ted Bourret officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery west of Gurley.

Memorials have been established to the Salem Lutheran Church.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thurs. at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Lillian Lucille Disbrow, the daughter of Heyo and Anna (Poppe) Schroeder was born Feb. 4, 1918 at Ulysses Nebraska. She grew up in the Ulysses area where she attended country school through the 4th grade and then the Lutheran Christian School through the 8th grade.

In 1937 she married Donald Ewert and they lived on a farm west of Gurley where they farmed and he did mechanical work. To this union three children were born. In 1951 they moved to Gurley where Donald bought a repair shop. Lillian purchased a grocery store in 1957, working there until 1970 when she sold it and spent some time with her father who was living alone on a farm in Butler County.

Donald preceded her in death in 1965 and in 1967 she met Laddie Disbrow, whom she married in 1973. They lived in Ogallala where they owned a trailer park. After selling the park in 1999, they moved to Dalton, Nebraska.

Laddie preceded her in death in 2001 and she remained in Dalton until 2008 when she moved to Western Heritage in Sidney prior to entering the nursing home.

Survivors include two sons: Cliff ( Betty) Ewert of Tucson, Ariz. and Rick (Terri) Ewert of Mesa, Ariz .; one daughter Donna (Ron) Tremain of Sidney; Stepchildren: Donald Disbrow of Sidney, David (Barbara) Disbrow of Goodyear, Ariz., Dennis (Doloris) Disbrow of Corpus Christi, TX, Debra (Michael) Glynn of Cave Creek, Ariz. and Darla (Frank, Jr.) Morse of Avon, Ind .; 8 Grandchildren, 12 Step-grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren, and one Great, great-grandchild Peyton Rushman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Ludwig, Reinhold and Jack; 2 sisters Edna and Emla and both husbands.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Disbrow family.
