Shirley A. Clark, 84 of Sidney, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center Extended Care. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks and gratitude to the staff and management for the excellent care and compassion during Shirley's stay.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thurs., March 13th in the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Dixie Voss Anders officiating.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wed., March 12th.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Shirley's care and funeral arrangements.

Shirley Ann Clark, the daughter of Jess Franklin and Elsie Pearl (Gilliland) Halfacre was born on Aug. 31, 1929 at Pocahontas, Ill. She graduated from Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, Ill. On April 30, 1949 Shirley was united in marriage to Emmett E. Clark at Edwardsville. Following numerous moves around the country with Emmett's employment with General Motors, they settled in Sidney in 1970 and purchased Kokjer Motors.

Shirley was a very active member of Light Memorial Presbyterian Church where she helped with the children's programs and the reading carnival to name a few. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a member of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband: Emmett of Sidney; (3) daughters: Marsha Lynn Clark of Omaha, Cynthia Ann Payne and husband Ron of Sidney and Brenda Sue Daigger and husband Dean of St. Peters, Mo .; (8) grandchildren; (17) great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and (1) grandson: John Clark Brooks.
