Early Warning System

Cheyenne County Emergency Communications Center would like to announce that they will begin weekly testing of the Early Warning System next week.

Beginning Wed., March 19th, 2014 at approximately 10 a.m., testing will be done every week on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. through the end of September. You will hear your local Early Warning Sirens being set off briefly; this is to ensure they are functional and working properly.

However; in the case of inclement weather during normal testing times, the test will not be performed.

There is no need to contact the Communications Center during these times if you hear your sirens functioning or even if you don’t, they have a system in place to confirm functionality for us.
