Marjorie Lessman, 88 of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Penrose St. Francis Health Services Medical Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Sat., March 22nd in the Salem Lutheran Church in Gurley with Pastor Ted Bourett officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Cemetery.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday from 1 to 7 p.m.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Marjorie's care and funeral arrangements.

Marjorie Katherine Elizabeth Lessman, the daughter of Fred Gottileb and Margaret Esther (Goodman) Schuler, was born on Aug. 17, 1925 in Dalton. She was raised on a farm outside of Dalton and attended the Dalton Public Schools graduating with the Class of 1944. On Jan. 7, 1945, Marge was united in marriage to LeRoy Paul Lessman at the Salem Lutheran Church in Gurley. Marge worked on the farm and ranch supporting her husband and did some work as a meat wrapper, retail clerk at the Gambles Store in Bridgeport and cooked for the Dalton Café.

Marge was a devoted member of Salem Lutheran Church, was an active member of the 500 Card Club, the Fairview Extension Club, the ODO Club and Beta Sigma Phi.

Survivors include her children: Judy Moffat of Colorado Springs, Colo., Joan Severns of Thornton, Colo. and stepson, Myron Lessman of Neosha, Mo .; her sister: Ruby Snook of Sioux Falls, S.D .; (4) grandchildren: Kara Angelbeck and husband Kurt, Amy Bills and husband John, Michael Moffat and wife Laura and Jessica Brown and husband Blake, (10) great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LeRoy, parents Fred and Margaret Schuler, son-in-law George Moffat, brother Gordon Schuler, sister: Dorothy Wills and husband Gill and brother-in-law Jackie Snook.
