Raiders take gold in home meet

Coyotes dominate class D as track schedule gets underway

The Sidney boys track team showed strength across the board on their way a convincing win in the Red Raider Invitational Track Meet on Saturday at Weymouth Field.

With mostly sunny skies and temperatures nearing 70 degrees, the setting was ideal for what was the opening outdoor meet of the 2014 season. Sidney's total of 175 points put them well ahead of second-place finisher Ogallala (116). Alliance (110.83) was third.

Potter-Dix finished ahead of all the Class D schools with 38.5 points for fifth overall. Leyton completed its day with 15 points while Creek Valley was held scoreless.
