Sidney girls take third in home invite

Potter-Dix leads class D schools at outdoor opener

Fourth-place finisher Regyn Hicks of Potter-Dix, right, finished a mere .03 behind  Hali Sahr of Gordon-Rushville in the 100-meter hurdles.

Strong individual performances and beautiful weather highlighted the Red Raider Invitational Track Meet on Saturday as a large contingent of schools from three classes descended on Weymouth Field at Sidney High School.

Four local schools competed in the event with Class D schools Creek Valley, Leyton and Potter-Dix joining Class B host Sidney. In the girls team competition Gothenburg came out on top with 154 points while Ogallala was runnerup with 116. Sidney followed in third place with 66 points with Potter-Dix one place behind in fourth (39). Leyton finished with 31 points and Creek Val...
