Woten to run for Black Hills State

There was a time when Kate Woten was just an average high school track athlete. But then she got serious.

Woten, a veteran of the 2013 NSAA Track Championships in Omaha and an honor-roll student at Potter-Dix High School, signed a letter of intent on Monday to study and run track at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D.

"It's surreal--I never thought this would actually be possible," said Woten. "I didn't let myself think it was possible until it happened because I didn't want to be disappointed."
