By the numbers, the 2014 NTA Western Zone shoot, held at Sidney Shooting Park, was a sizable affair. After all, 34 trap shooters from Nebraska, 5 shooters from Colorado, and 1 shooter from Wyoming fired at a total of 14,700 registered trap targets during the competition on June 7 and 8.
But there were moments where the numbers truly mattered. Casey Petersen, 14, broke the first ever 200x200 on the grounds Saturday. Another 7 shooters hit 100x100 on Saturday, the most ever in one day.
