Sidney rallies for win

Sidney broke open a tie game in the seventh and final inning, exploding for four runs to knock off Chadron on the road Tuesday night.

The middle of the lineup--Colton Onstott, Scott Phillips, Travis Garska and Jaden Sears produced seven of the team's eight hits, scoring four and driving in two more, helping to secure the win.

Skyler Arent recorded the other base hit, while leadoff batter Bradey Holtz scored twice.

The late game outburst gave Onstott the win in relief. But Holtz, Post 17's starter, put in a solid performance. He held Chadron to five hits over six innings of work, walking three and striking out three.

Holtz allowed just two earned runs.

The win extends Sidney's streak to six in a row. They are unbeaten since their disastrous 19-1 loss to Crete in the Crete tourney. Sidney is 15-7 on the year.

Post 17 returns to the diamond this weekend at Legion Park, as they play host to the Sidney Tournament.
