Bettie Jean Kester, age 87, of Nixa, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014. She was born July 1, 1927, in Dalton the daughter of Allen and Hazel (Reinmuth) Overman. On July 9, 1945, she and Walter William Herboldsheimer were united in marriage.
Bettie was a caring and dedicated L.P.N. She worked for the Emmaus House in St. Charles, Mo. and most recently at Taylor Health Clinic at Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri.
Bettie was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother. She was a devoted and faithful member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she enjoyed: bible study, singing in the church choir, sewing, reading, gardening and planting flowers
She is preceded in death by: her parents, three spouses, Walter William Herboldsheimer, Guy William Countryman and Lowell Harding Kester and one sister Donna Hutchinson
Bettie is survived by her six children: Cheryle and husband Kenneth Powell, Eaton, Colo., Linda and husband Scott Foster, Nixa, Mo., Janel and husband Steve Borg, Leavenworth, Kan., Karen and husband Craig McGuire, Eldon, Mo., Holly and husband Wayne Younger, Fort Collins, Colo. and Greg Hutchinson, Sidney, one brother, James and wife Josie Overman, Fairbanks, AK and 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. July 8, 2014 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Mo. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 in the funeral home.
