1936 to 2014

Rosa M. Devier, 78 of Dalton, passed away at her home July 6, 2014.

Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 10th with burial in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Vigil Services will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 9th. Both services will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Dave Rykwalder officiating.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in Rosa's name to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the Dalton Boy Scouts.

Rosa Margaret Devier, the daughter of Louis Joseph and Monica (Zentner) Hutzenbiler was born on July 4, 1936 at Bridger, MT. She attended Elementary School in Bridger before moving to Dalton and graduating from Dalton High School. On Sept. 7, 1957, Rosa was married to Ronald Devier at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dalton. They made their home in Sidney before moving to the farm in 1972.

Rosa was very active at St. Mary's Church, was a Federated Flower Show Judge, member of the Dalton/Gurley Garden Club, Charter Member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter W from Scottsbluff and was an accomplished hand quilter.

Survivors include her husband: Ronald of Dalton, (2) sons: Lonnie Devier and wife Betsy of Channahon, IL and Rodney Devier and wife Robin of Dalton and (1) daughter: Rhonda Zugmier and husband Joseph of Lincoln; (7) grandchildren: Christian, Anthony and Nicholas Devier, Riley and Rhegan Devier and Ashley and Andrew Zugmier; (6) siblings: Betty Kersting and husband Tiny, Floyd Hutzenbiler and wife Betty, Leroy Hutzenbiler and wife Andrea, Carol Greenwood and husband Bob, Richard Hutzenbiler and wife Clare and Marie Rankin and husband Bob; sisters-in-law: Janice Fehringer, Marjorie Shupe and Marva Buettner and numerous extended family members and friends.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law: Jim and Marie Devier; (1) brother: Robert Hutzenbiler and (3) brothers-in-law: Donald Devier, Lawrence Shupe and John Buettner.
