Ambulance service strives to cut hospital transports

Sidney’s ambulance service is working to make fewer trips to the hospital by treating more people at home.

“As we look at what’s happening from our federal government and down with healthcare, we have to change from taking care of sick people to being part of a system that keeps patients well and keeps them out of the hospitals,” said Randy Meininger, the program manager for Emergency Response Care. “And paramedics are in the right spot at the right time to do that.”
