1924 to 2014

Edgar Peters, 90 of Lodgepole, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Sidney Regional Medical Center, Extended Care.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Pleasant View Cemetery north of Lodgepole, Nebraska with Brenda Tophoj, P.M.A. from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church officiating.

Memorials have been established to the Sidney Shooting Park.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Edgar was born the youngest of eleven children, June 27, 1924 to Henning and Tora (Johnson) Peters on the family farm north of Lodgepole. Edgar continued to live his simple life on the family farm until recently when he entered the extended care. He was always willing the help his neighbors and friends and was loved as a favorite uncle. He enjoyed trap shooting and was proud of the many trophies and turkeys he had won over the years. His cattle were his joy and in his later years became his pets.

He is survived by nieces: Florence Ray, Gloria Wilson, Angie Paisley, Candy Jensen, Kerry Krauter, Vicki Peters, Dacia Peters; nephews: Jim Quinn, Joe Quinn, Kim Peters, Val Peters and Edward Peters and special friends Kurt Huff and Harold Darling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Florence Peters, Lillie Olson and Myrtle Quinn; seven brothers: Clarence Peters, Alfred Peters, Henning Peters, Earl Peters, Charlie Peters, Clyde Peters and Arthur Peters; one niece Tora Peyton; one nephew Mark Peters; one great niece and one great nephew.
