Pairs-N-Half-A-Pair Square Dance Club will have an Indoor Picnic Dance at the IOOF Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22nd with Lucky calling. Meal indoors starting at 6 p.m. Beef, buns, and baked beans will be provided. Dancers, please bring salads, desserts or side dishes.

Potter Sundry 100th Celebration in Potter! You’re invited: The Potter Sundry building is turning 100 years old and the Potter Historical Foundation would like to celebrate this milestone with an old fashioned “Ice Cream Social”. Free mini Tin Roof sundaes will be served on Sunday, Aug. 24th - 2 to 4 p.m. at the Potter Sundry and it’s old-fashioned soda fountain located on main street in Potter. Please join us for this legendary ice cream treat! Free will donation will be taken for recent tornado victims in northeast Nebraska: From Potter to Pilger, one small town helping another.

Leyton Tailgate Party to be held Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Dalton football field. All Leyton patrons and community members are invited to attend. This year’s featured speaker is Mr. Steve Swedburg. Come join us!

The Sidney AWANA Clubs will be starting a new year this Wednesday, Aug. 27. It’s a great time for kids to play games, make friends and learn about the Bible. Registration is from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, 2763 11th Ave. for boys and girls from pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade. Opening night will be Sept. 10 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. AWANA will take place every Wednesday throughout the school year. Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Medical Center Director, Dr. Cynthia McCormack will hold a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, Aug. 28, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The town hall meeting will provide an open forum to all veterans, their families and the community to voice their opinions and concerns regarding the Sidney, Neb. Veterans Affairs Multi-Specialty Outpatient Clinic.
