Work to begin on I-80 from Bushnell to Kimball

Work is scheduled to begin next week on I-80 from Bushnell to the west Kimball interchange, on the westbound lanes only, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.

Werner Construction of Hasting has the $2,099,199 contract for concrete repair, milling and resurfacing. The highway improvement project will involve the repair of concrete pavement, removal and replacement of asphalt and installation of new rumble strips on both shoulders.

Traffic will be maintained throughout the project using lane closures reduced to 12 feet wide. Construction is anticipated to be completed this fall The Department of Roads’ project manager is Jim Johnson of Gering.
