1926 to 2014

Charles W. Wright, 88 of Longmont, Colo., passed away Sept. 3, 2014 at Longmont United Hospital. Charles was born on Aug. 17, 1926 in Moore, Okla. to Charles U. and Mabel (Meloy) Wright.

Charles was raised in Moore and on Oct. 24, 1947, married Geneva Hutchison at the home of Geneva's parents in Tuttle, Okla.

Charles was a family man and well loved by all. His relationship with his Lord and Savior was his top priority. The children and grandchildren have many great memories of joining Charlie and Geneva for their morning devotions. He spent countless hours mentoring the lives not only of his children, but also his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was faithfully involved in his local church, the most recent being Faith Baptist Church in Longmont.

Charlie was an entrepreneur and established A & W Water Service in 1954, which just celebrated its 60th anniversary.

He enjoyed backyard entertaining and sharing his love for his beautiful flowers and landscape.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles is survived by his wife Geneva, sons Charles Ronald Wright (Linda), Donald G. Wright (Joan) and Gary W. Wright (Julie), grandchildren Rob Wright (Laura), Don Wright, Jr. (Ann), Sandra Wright, Sheri Burnham (Bob), Mike Wright (Deborah), David Wright (Janna), Jeff Wright (Stephanie), Scott Wright, Jennifer Patterson (Kyle), Brad Wright (Rachel) and Amy Wright, great-grandchildren Bailey, Taylor, Ethan, Ashley, Evan, Nick, Kylie, Drew, Jason, Kate, Ava, Audrey, Craig, Courtney, Bentley, Tate, Macie, Chloe, Oliver and Jacob, brother James S. Wright, sisters Frances Messer, Ruth Clinkenbeard and Betty Ann Shelton along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Mon., Sept. 8, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tues., Sept. 9, 2014 at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church.
